The premise

John Reilly discovers that his family's newly inherited castle in Italy is haunted by a relentless, bloodthirsty creature.

When the Reilly family travels to Italy to claim an ancestral castle, they quickly discover the crumbling estate harbors something far worse than cobwebs and old debts. A scarred, feral presence lurks in the dungeon depths, and the family's already fractured bonds offer little protection against what stalks them in the dark. Director Stuart Gordon brings his signature Lovecraft-inflected dread to this grim tale of legacy and horror, reuniting Re-Animator stars Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton for another descent into the macabre.
