Horror Vault's take
In 17th-century England, a tyrannical nobleman wages a brutal campaign against those he brands as witches, leaving a trail of suffering across the countryside. When his cruelty finally pushes a wronged woman too far, she turns her occult powers against his bloodline in a curse that strikes from within his own household. Vincent Price commands the screen as the merciless Lord Whitman, lending the film a brooding, theatrical menace rooted in period detail. What follows is a slow-burning tale of retribution where the hunter becomes the haunted.
