The premise

An architect, visiting an English country house, realizes the other guests are familiar from his recurring nightmare. When they share their tales of the supernatural, he is filled with a growing dread.

Horror Vault's take

A mild-mannered architect arrives at a remote English country house only to be seized by the unshakeable sense that everything around him — the guests, the setting, the very conversations — belongs to a nightmare he has lived before. As the evening unfolds, the assembled company trades stories of ghostly mirrors, prophetic visions, and a ventriloquist's dummy with a will of its own, each tale tightening the spiral of dread. Blending wry British restraint with genuinely chilling set-pieces, this landmark anthology weaves its separate threads into something far more unsettling than the sum of its parts. Few films from any era have made the boundary between sleep and waking feel quite so terrifyingly thin.
