The premise
Set six months after a deadly outbreak has all but ended the human race, a man and woman have survived by isolating themselves in a remote cabin and never opening the door. Six months into a catastrophic outbreak, two survivors have sealed themselves inside a remote cabin, clinging to a rigid routine that keeps the infected world at bay. When dwindling supplies force them to reckon with the outside, the fragile balance they've maintained begins to crack. Dead Within is less concerned with zombie mayhem than with the psychological toll of prolonged isolation — the fear, grief, and suspicion that fester when two people are all that's left. Stripped-down and suffocatingly intimate, it asks whether the real threat ever needed to come through the door at all.
