Deep in a crumbling Louisiana mansion, an eccentric recluse named Charlotte has spent decades haunted by a shocking crime from her past — one the townsfolk have never let her forget. This Grand Guignol melodrama wrings maximum tension from its decaying setting and a cast of masterfully unreliable characters.
