The premise

Fauna Hodel, who was given away by her teenage birth mother, begins to investigate the secrets to her past, following a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist connected to the legendary Black Dahlia murder.

A young mixed-race woman raised in Nevada begins pulling at the threads of her hidden origins, only to find herself drawn into the shadowy world of a powerful and deeply disturbing Los Angeles family. Set against the seedy glamour of 1960s Hollywood, the series weaves a neo-noir nightmare around one of true crime's most enduring unsolved mysteries. As journalist Pat Doyle becomes her unlikely ally, both are pulled deeper into a conspiracy that powerful forces clearly want buried.
