In the Shadow of Kilimanjaro1986
“Violent death was the easy way out!”
Directed by Raju Patel
The premise
There's a big drought in Africa. Food and water are scarce. 90,000 wild baboons suddenly start attacking humans and eating them in order to survive. Some people find themselves being hunted by the starving monkeys and must do whatever they can to stay alive.
Horror Vault's take
When a devastating drought strips the Kenyan wilderness of food and water, a massive horde of starving baboons turns its hunger toward the most available prey — human beings. A group of survivors must fight through the unforgiving African landscape as the relentless swarm closes in from every direction. Based on a real-life ecological crisis, the film grounds its animal-attack terror in stark, sun-scorched authenticity. John Rhys-Davies leads the cast through a harrowing ordeal where nature itself has turned predator.
