The premise
In a poor Estonian village, a group of peasants use magic and folk remedies to survive the winter, and a young woman tries to get a young man to love her.

Set in a frost-bitten Estonian village where the boundary between the living and the dead barely exists, November weaves together peasant superstition, dark folk magic, and desperate longing into a visually stunning fable. Creatures of myth roam the same muddy paths as the villagers, who barter with spirits and bend ancient rituals simply to endure another winter. At the heart of it all is a young woman whose yearning for a man's love drives her to increasingly dangerous bargains with forces beyond her control. Shot in luminous black and white, the film feels less like a horror movie and more like a fever dream pulled from the roots of Baltic folklore.
