The premise

In the shattered aftermath of World War One, a post mortem photographer arrives in a scarred Hungarian village where the dead may not have fully departed. Paired with a young girl who seems to sense things others cannot, he must reckon with a community still raw with grief — and with something far more sinister lurking beneath the surface. This Hungarian production leans into slow-burn dread, using period atmosphere and the haunting ritual of death photography to unsettle at every turn. Those who linger in grief may find that the darkness lingers back.
