The premise

Ángela Vidal, the young television reporter who entered the building with the firemen, manages to make it out alive. But what the soldiers don't know is that she carries the seed of the strange infection. She is to be taken to a provisional quarantine facility, a high-security installation where she will have to stay in isolation for several days. An old oil tanker, miles off shore and surrounded by water on all sides, has been especially equipped for the quarantine.

Ángela Vidal, the face viewers followed through the nightmare of the Barcelona apartment block, is pulled from the chaos — but her rescue may be the beginning of something far worse. Isolated aboard a retrofitted oil tanker adrift at sea, she and a skeleton crew of soldiers and survivors discover that water surrounding them on all sides offers no real safety. The fourth and reportedly final chapter of the [REC] saga trades found-footage claustrophobia for a more conventional but ferociously paced action-horror hybrid, keeping the franchise's signature sense of dread firmly intact.
