The premise

The evil warlord Gengetsu Kibaoni was defeated 444 years ago by the Last Ninja, the head of the Igasaki Family. In 2015, the Kibaoni Army starts rebuilding their empire and use fear harvested from humans to revive him. Five members of the Igasaki family must use their Nintality to transform into the Ninningers and fight to prevent the revival of Gengetsu Kibaoni.

A legendary evil warlord sealed away for centuries threatens to claw his way back into the world — and the only ones standing in his way are five young descendants of the ninja clan that stopped him before. Armed with inherited mystical power called Nintality, these reluctant heroes must master their craft fast as an army of yokai and demons harvests human fear to fuel their master's return. Equal parts high-flying martial arts spectacle and colorful monster-of-the-week adventure, Ninninger draws on Japanese folklore to keep its threats feeling culturally rooted and distinct.
