The premise
People are dying mysteriously and gruesomely, and nobody has a clue what the cause is. Only health worker Mike Brady has a possible solution, but his theory of killer slugs is laughed at by the authorities. Only when the body count begins to rise and a slug expert from England begins snooping around does it begin to look like Mike had the right idea after all.

Something is lurking beneath the streets and gardens of a quiet New York town, and the body count is climbing in spectacularly gruesome fashion. Health inspector Mike Brady suspects the culprit is something far more humble — and far more ravenous — than anyone is willing to believe. Bureaucratic stonewalling and public skepticism stand between Brady and stopping the carnage, while the kills keep getting messier. This 1988 creature-feature adapts its source novel with gleeful, slimy abandon.
