The premise
Several people disappear from and at the sea. Their bodies are found gnawed to the skeleton, even the marrow is missing. The scientists have no idea which animal could do such things. Dr. Turner begins to suspect that the company which builds a tunnel beneath the bay might have poisoned the environment and caused an octopus to mutate to giant dimensions...

When a series of beachgoers and sailors turn up stripped to the bone, a coastal community is gripped by a mystery that defies easy explanation. A determined investigator begins connecting the gruesome deaths to a powerful construction company drilling beneath the bay, raising the chilling possibility that human greed has awakened something ancient and enormous in the deep. Part Jaws-era creature feature, part eco-thriller, Tentacles pits a star-studded ensemble against a terror lurking just beneath the surface. The sun-drenched seaside setting makes the dread all the more unsettling.
