The premise
A meteor lands in Jamestown California in 1849 during the gold rush. It is found by miners who release it's spoors which turn the population into blood thirsty mutants.

Set against the lawless backdrop of the 1849 California Gold Rush, this horror-western hybrid takes a sharp detour when a mysterious meteor crash-lands near Jamestown and its unearthly contents are disturbed by unsuspecting miners. What follows is a desperate fight for survival as the local population is transformed into savage, bloodthirsty mutants. Bounty hunters, settlers, and outlaws must contend not only with each other but with a horror that no frontier weapon was ever designed to stop.
