When a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to Boston empties of nearly all its passengers mid-journey, a small group of survivors wakes to find themselves utterly alone in the sky — and the mystery of where everyone went is only the beginning of their terror. Based on Stephen King's novella, this two-part miniseries builds a slow, suffocating dread as the group descends into a world that feels profoundly, wrongly dead. The threat closing in on them is unlike anything in conventional horror, rooted in cosmic rules that are as relentless as they are nightmarish. Standout performances — particularly a scene-chewing turn from Bronson Pinchot — keep the human drama razor-sharp alongside the supernatural strangeness.
