The premise
In the shadow of an enormous hydraulic dam, the lives of the residents of a small French town are changed to their core when hundreds of previously dead relatives all return home on the same day.

In a quiet French mountain town overshadowed by a vast dam, the impossible becomes reality when the long-dead begin walking back through the doors of those who mourned them. Les Revenants unfolds with a haunting, muted elegance — less interested in gore than in the unbearable weight of what it means to welcome back someone you've already learned to lose. Each returnee carries their own unfinished business, and the community around them fractures under the strain of joy, guilt, and creeping dread. This is European supernatural drama at its most assured and achingly human.
