The premise
In an isolated mountain village in 19th century Macedonia, a young feral witch accidentally kills a peasant. She assumes the peasant's shape to see what life is like in her skin, igniting a deep seated curiosity to experience life inside the bodies of others.

Set against the rugged, fog-draped mountains of 19th-century Macedonia, this visually hypnotic folk horror film follows a feral young witch whose encounter with an ordinary villager sparks an obsessive hunger to inhabit other lives. Moving at a deliberate, dreamlike pace, the film uses shapeshifting as a lens to explore humanity from the outside in — through touch, labor, desire, and loss. Less concerned with conventional scares than with primal wonder, it asks what it truly means to live inside a body and belong to a world. Noomi Rapace leads a multinational cast through a story that is as much lyrical meditation as it is horror.
