The premise
Mayhem and death follow when an earthquake traps a group of tourists in a Chilean town.

A group of tourists living it up in Chile's party scene find their carefree trip violently derailed when a massive earthquake reduces their surroundings to rubble. What begins as a disaster-survival story quickly darkens as the collapse of order brings out the worst in those still standing. Director-star Eli Roth delivers a merciless ordeal that treats natural catastrophe as only the opening act of horror. Fans of uncompromising, mean-spirited genre filmmaking will find little comfort here.
