Inspired by real events, Backcountry follows a couple whose ambitious off-trail camping trip into the Canadian wilderness quickly turns into a desperate fight for their lives. What begins as a romantic getaway erodes into mounting tension as the pair lose their bearings deep in the woods — and something out there begins to take notice. Director Adam MacDonald strips away every safety net, delivering a grounded, nerve-shredding portrait of just how outmatched humans are on nature's terms. Fans of slow-burn wilderness horror will find this one lingers long after the credits roll.
