The premise
After a near-death drowning accident, a young boy's family is horrified to discover he has become possessed by a legendary demon from the depths of the lake. As the family races against time to save the boy's soul, the evil monster inside the child tears the family apart as it seeks to destroy everyone in its path.

A family vacation takes a nightmarish turn when their young son nearly drowns in a remote lake — and something ancient and hungry comes back with him. Rooted in Japanese folklore, the demon that now inhabits the boy grows more dangerous by the hour, pushing the family to their breaking point. Captured in found footage style, Bloat turns the terror of a parent's worst nightmare into something far more primal and malevolent.
