In a seedy off-Broadway theatre, the flamboyant Sardu and his deranged little accomplice Ralphus stage what audiences believe to be outrageous Grand Guignol illusions — but the screams coming from the stage are devastatingly real. A gleefully depraved product of the grindhouse era, the film wallows in taboo-shattering excess and pitch-black bad taste with almost gleeful abandon.
