The premise
A group of five college graduates rent a cabin in the woods and begin to fall victim to a horrifying flesh-eating virus, which attracts the unwanted attention of the homicidal locals.

Five college friends head to a remote woodland cabin expecting nothing more than a relaxing getaway — but their trip takes a stomach-churning turn when a mysterious flesh-eating virus begins tearing through the group. As bodies deteriorate and panic sets in, the friends turn on each other, and the suspicious locals surrounding the area prove to be a threat all their own. Eli Roth's debut feature leans hard into gruesome practical effects and an escalating sense of dread, delivering a horror experience that is equal parts gross-out and genuinely unnerving.
