The premise
Unicom is a powerful organization overseeing most of the world after its economic collapse. They have banned computers and robots in an attempt to insure "life, liberty, and the pursuit of economic stability". When a Unicom Synth robot infiltrates a southwest TV station and kills the manager, a revolutionary against the gestapo-like corporation, a lowly Unicom delivery man must help the rest of the station survive through the incoming "thermal storm".
Horror Vault's take
In a near-future world crushed under the boot of the all-powerful Unicom corporation, a small desert TV station becomes the site of something far more dangerous than a gathering storm. An inhuman predator has infiltrated the staff, and with a deadly thermal storm cutting off any escape, a ragtag group of survivors must figure out who — or what — is among them before it's too late. Part paranoid thriller, part creature feature, this low-budget cult entry leans hard into its dystopian premise and siege-horror atmosphere. Fans of late-80s straight-to-video sci-fi horror will find plenty to enjoy in its scrappy tension and practical effects ambition.
