The premise

A dangerous combination of radiation and insecticide causes the unfortunate Scott Carey to shrink, slowly but surely, until he is only a few inches tall. His home becomes a wilderness where he must survive everything from spiders living in the cellar to his beloved cat.

Horror Vault's take

After exposure to a mysterious radioactive mist, Scott Carey begins to shrink — and cannot stop. What starts as a medical curiosity becomes a fight for survival as the familiar world of his own home transforms into a vast, hostile wilderness. Household objects become mountainous obstacles, and ordinary creatures turn into lethal predators. This 1957 sci-fi horror landmark pushes its premise into genuinely harrowing and philosophically unsettling territory.
