The premise

The depletion of the earth's ozone layer causes animals above the altitude of 5000 feet to run amok, which is very unfortunate for a group of hikers who get dropped off up there by helicopter just before the quarantine is announced.

Horror Vault's take

When Earth's ozone layer begins breaking down, something goes terribly wrong with the wildlife inhabiting high altitudes — and a group of hikers is dropped deep into that danger zone just as authorities scramble to contain the threat. Stranded in the wilderness with no warning and no easy way out, the group must contend with predators from every direction: hawks, wolves, bears, snakes, and worse. This late-70s eco-horror entry leans hard into nature-run-amok paranoia, channeling real-world environmental anxieties into relentless backcountry dread.
