The premise
In the 1960s, two classmates go looking for their missing friends and teachers, all of whom took part in an illegal book club, only to come face to face with ghosts and deformed monsters that have taken over their school.

Set against the suffocating backdrop of Taiwan's White Terror era, two students venture through a fog-drenched school in search of classmates and teachers who vanished after participating in a clandestine book club. What they find is a nightmare landscape overrun by malevolent spirits and grotesque creatures born from the era's fear and repression. Rooted in a beloved Taiwanese video game, the film weaves political history into its horror with striking visual imagination. Every shadow in these halls carries the weight of a society living under martial law.
