The premise
Forensic doctor Qing Ling travels to Sheung Shui village to look into and investigate the true events behind her brother's disappearance. The villagers are living in mortal fear of the curse of a creature known as the Water Monkey.

When forensic doctor Qing Ling arrives at the remote Sheung Shui village to uncover what happened to her missing brother, she finds a community gripped by terror and superstition. Locals speak in hushed tones of the Water Monkey — a cursed creature said to haunt the surrounding waters and claim the unwary. Qing Ling's clinical instincts clash with the village's deep-rooted dread as the body count and unanswered questions mount. What lurks beneath the surface may be far worse than any legend she was prepared to face.
