The premise
For generations, the eldest son of the village has been the protector, but the current heir, Dr. Cheon, is a fake exorcist who doesn't believe in ghosts. Using his penetrating insight into people's minds, he performs fake exorcisms and resolves cases brought to him. However, Yoo-kyung, a client who can see ghosts, approaches him with an offer too tempting to refuse. With his assistant In-bae, Dr. Cheon heads to Yoo-kyung's house, and gets involved in a series of strange phenomena. As they delve into the mysteries there, they uncover the secrets of a talisman known as 'Seolkyung'...

Dr. Cheon is the latest in a long line of spiritual protectors — except he's a complete fraud, using sharp psychological tricks to stage convincing fake exorcisms for paying clients. Everything changes when a young woman who genuinely sees ghosts lures him into a case that proves far stranger than anything he's faked before. Together with his hapless assistant, Dr. Cheon finds himself entangled in sinister phenomena surrounding a powerful and mysterious talisman called Seolkyung. This Korean supernatural action-mystery delivers equal parts wit and dread as its reluctant hero is forced to confront whether the things he's been dismissing his whole life might be terrifyingly real.
