The premise

A man trapped in an endless sterile subway passageway sets out to find Exit 8. The rules of his quest are simple: do not overlook anything out of the ordinary. If you discover an anomaly, turn back immediately. If you don’t, carry on. Then leave from Exit 8. But even a single oversight will send him back to the beginning. Will he ever reach his goal and escape this infinite corridor?

Horror Vault's take

A man finds himself trapped in a featureless, looping subway corridor with one simple directive: spot the anomalies, turn back when you find one, and press on when you don't — until you reach Exit 8. What sounds deceptively straightforward becomes a creeping psychological ordeal as the sterile passageway refuses to give up its secrets easily. Based on the cult indie video game, this Japanese horror film weaponizes mundane architecture and hyper-focused observation to manufacture dread from almost nothing. The infinite loop becomes as much a mental gauntlet as a physical one.
