The premise
After receiving word about a mysterious carcass/skeleton unearthed in the Arizona desert, a father and his daughter decide to remove it from the burial grounds for further study. Once they do so, they, as well as the town, are besieged by a colony of gargoyles living in some nearby caverns.

When an anthropologist and his daughter disturb a strange skeletal relic buried in the Arizona desert, they unknowingly stir up far more than an academic curiosity. A colony of winged, demonic creatures emerges from the caverns nearby, and soon the surrounding desert community finds itself under siege. This 1972 TV movie delivers practical creature effects and a creeping sense of dread that punches well above its modest budget. It remains a beloved cult artifact of early-seventies monster horror.
