The premise
It's autumn in New York. Sam has broken up with his girlfriend and his father has recently died. World-weary and sloppy drunk, he finds temporary solace in the arms of Anna, a mysterious vampire who draws him away from his friends and into a web of addiction and madness.

Shot on grainy 16mm in the rain-slicked streets of Manhattan's East Village, Habit follows Sam, a grieving and hard-drinking young man who falls under the spell of a captivating stranger named Anna. As their intense relationship deepens, Sam's grip on reality — and his connections to the people around him — begins to quietly unravel. Director-star Larry Fessenden blurs the line between supernatural seduction and the very human pull of self-destruction, making you question what is real and what the bottle has conjured. A lo-fi, deeply personal vampire film that feels less like a genre exercise and more like a confession.
