The premise

In the Iranian ghost-town Bad City, a place that reeks of death and loneliness, the townspeople are unaware they are being stalked by a lonesome vampire.

Horror Vault's take

Shot in luminous black and white and set in a desolate Iranian city called Bad City, this boldly original film follows a solitary vampire who moves through the night as a silent, watchful force among the town's forgotten and desperate residents. Director Ana Lily Amirpour blends the languid cool of art-house cinema with genuine menace, crafting a world where danger and tenderness exist side by side. A chance encounter hints at the possibility of connection in a place defined by decay and despair, raising questions about who the real monsters are.
