When a camping trip ends in mysterious carnage deep in the American wilderness, a ruthless TV producer assembles a crew — including a seasoned primate expert — to investigate and capture footage of what may be lurking in the trees. What begins as an opportunistic expedition quickly spirals into a desperate fight for survival as the team confronts something far more dangerous than legend. The remote forest setting amplifies every snapped branch and shadowed treeline into pure dread. Hoax asks whether the real monster is the creature — or the humans who go looking for it.
