The premise
Angsty Syd navigates high school awkwardness, family drama and an unrequited crush on her best friend while trying to rein in her budding superpowers.

Sydney is a sharp-tongued teenager already drowning in family stress and complicated feelings for her best friend — then something strange and frightening begins to surface from within her. Part chronicle of high-school misery, part supernatural pressure cooker, the show uses a classic diary format to put us deep inside Syd's restless, volatile inner world. Based on Charles Forsman's graphic novel, it balances dark humor with genuine dread as Sydney's grip on her own mind and body starts to slip.
