When a remote island community begins losing residents in a deeply disturbing fashion, two scientists arrive to investigate and discover the culprit is something no one could have anticipated. Blob-like, tentacled creatures — the apparent by-product of rogue laboratory experiments — are spreading across the island, and conventional methods of stopping them prove maddeningly inadequate. With the creatures multiplying and escape routes limited, the dwindling population must race to find a weakness before there is no one left. Peter Cushing anchors the film with his trademark authoritative calm against mounting, visceral dread.
