The premise
A ship-wrecked man floats ashore on an island in the Pacific Ocean. The island is inhabited by a scientist, Dr. Moreau, who in an experiment has turned beasts into human beings.

When a shipwrecked survivor washes ashore on a remote Pacific island, he quickly discovers that his reluctant host, the brilliant and obsessive Dr. Moreau, has been conducting experiments that blur the line between man and beast. What begins as a desperate search for rescue becomes a harrowing confrontation with the darkest extremes of scientific ambition. The island's hybrid inhabitants are unsettling proof of Moreau's god complex — and a constant reminder that civilization may be thinner than it appears. Escape, if possible at all, will not come easily.
