“A Tyburn Tale of Terror”
Directed by Freddie Francis
The premise

Horror Vault's take
Set against the fog-laden streets and shadowy underbelly of 19th-century Paris, this Gothic werewolf tale follows a feral young man whose wolf-born upbringing never truly left him. By day he finds uneasy refuge in the spectacle of a travelling circus; by night, the full moon strips away whatever humanity he has built. When his fixation on a local woman intensifies, a determined professor makes it his mission to track down the creature terrorising the city. Cushing anchors the hunt with his trademark cerebral gravitas, lending the film a classic Hammer-adjacent atmosphere.
