The premise
A team consisting of a physicist, his wife, a young female psychic, and the only survivor of the previous visit are sent to the notorious Hell House to prove or disprove survival after death. Previous visitors have either been killed or gone mad, and it is up to the team to survive a full week in isolation, and solve the mystery of the Hell House.

Hell House has a reputation that precedes it — every team sent to investigate its walls has either perished or been broken beyond repair. Now a new group of investigators, blending scientific method with psychic sensitivity, must spend a full week within its suffocating confines. The house seems to have a will of its own, and it wastes no time testing each member of the team in deeply personal ways. Richard Matheson's adaptation of his own novel delivers a haunted-house experience that is as much a battle of wills as it is a ghost story.
