A British photographer ventures deep into the Thai jungle and finds himself at the mercy of an isolated tribal community with its own brutal codes of law and ritual. What begins as a harrowing captivity slowly transforms into something far more complex as he is drawn into the rhythms and dangers of village life. Lurking at the edges of this fragile world, however, is a far more ferocious and flesh-hungry threat. This Italian-produced roughie launched an entire wave of cannibal exploitation cinema and remains one of its most foundational entries.
