The premise
An ex-vaudeville actor is working as the assistant to a doctor who has Frankenstein aspirations. The ex-vaudeville actor kills the doctor and decides to assume the identity of the dead physician.

A desperate ex-showman finds himself entangled with a deranged doctor obsessed with reanimating the dead, setting off a chain of increasingly unhinged events rooted in deception and delusion. This pre-Code oddity revels in lurid excess, blending carnival-barker energy with genuinely disturbing imagery. Equal parts cautionary tale and exploitation spectacle, it pushes the boundaries of what 1930s cinema dared to show on screen.
