The premise
Seven years on from the events of Monsters, and the ‘Infected Zones’ have spread worldwide. Humans have been knocked off the top of the food chain, with disparate communities struggling for survival. American soldiers are being sent abroad to protect US interests from the Monsters, but the war is far from being won.

A decade after the original Monsters reshaped the world, alien-infected zones have consumed entire continents and humanity's grip on dominance has all but slipped away. American soldiers are deployed overseas to hold back the tide, but the mission quickly reveals itself to be something far grimmer than a straightforward fight for survival. This gritty, war-film-tinged sequel interrogates the thin line between the monsters humanity fears and the ones it becomes. Expect punishing terrain, mounting dread, and a story that refuses easy comfort.
