Paganini Horror1989
“KILLER MUSIC.”
Directed by Luigi Cozzi
The premise
A female rock band acquires an infamous composition by Niccolò Paganini that was used in satanic rituals. When the band decides to record the song and film a video in Paganini's old mansion, the spirit of the deceased composer is summoned and the band unlocks a portal to Hell.
Horror Vault's take
When an all-female rock band gets their hands on a long-buried composition tied to Niccolò Paganini's darkest secrets, they see it as their ticket to stardom — not a warning. Choosing the legendary composer's crumbling mansion as the backdrop for their music video proves to be a fatal miscalculation, as something ancient and malevolent stirs within its walls. Italian horror maestro Daria Nicolodi leads the cast through a fever-dream of gore and supernatural dread that only escalates from the first note played. Fans of late-80s Euro horror will find this deliriously over-the-top blend of rock aesthetics and hellish imagery hard to resist.
