Set three decades before the cursed videotape began its deadly circuit, Ring 0 peels back the mystery surrounding one of horror's most iconic figures, revealing the lonely, tormented young woman beneath the legend. Yukie Nakama portrays a shy, soft-spoken girl who joins a theatre troupe, only for her presence to stir fear, suspicion, and dark forces among those around her. Rather than lean on shock tactics, the film builds its dread slowly through tragedy and atmosphere, offering a portrait of how cruelty and fear can forge something monstrous.
