The premise
A freak hurricane hits Los Angeles, causing man-eating sharks to be scooped up in tornadoes and flooding the city with shark-infested seawater. Surfer and bar-owner Fin sets out with his friends Baz and Nova to rescue his estranged wife April and teenage daughter Claudia.
Horror Vault's take
When a freak hurricane flings man-eating sharks across Los Angeles inside swirling tornadoes, a surf bar owner refuses to wait out the madness — he's got family to save. Armed with little more than determination and a chainsaw, Fin rallies a ragtag crew and races through flooded, shark-infested streets in what may be the most gloriously unhinged disaster scenario ever committed to film. Sharknado fully embraces its own absurdity, delivering wall-to-wall creature chaos with a wink and a grin. If you've ever wondered how you'd fight an airborne great white, this movie has a very confident answer.
