The premise

A family living on a farm finds mysterious crop circles in their fields which suggests something more frightening to come.

Horror Vault's take

When a family on a remote Pennsylvania farm wakes to find enormous crop circles carved overnight into their fields, what begins as an unsettling mystery quickly escalates into something far more terrifying. Former minister Graham Hess must hold his fractured family together as mounting evidence suggests they are not alone — and that whatever is coming is not friendly. M. Night Shyamalan builds suffocating dread almost entirely through suggestion and silence, proving that what you don't see can be far scarier than what you do. At its heart, the film is as much a meditation on grief and belief as it is a nerve-shredding alien thriller.
