The premise
Still/Born follows Mary, a new mother who lost one of her twins in childbirth. As she struggles with the loss of one of her children, she starts to suspect something sinister is after her surviving child – a supernatural entity that has chosen her child and will stop at nothing to take it from her.
Horror Vault's take
After a devastating delivery-room tragedy, new mother Mary finds herself consumed by both grief and a growing terror she can't quite name. Something ancient and malevolent seems fixated on her surviving infant, and Mary will go to any lengths to protect what remains of her family. The film walks a razor's edge between supernatural horror and psychological unraveling, keeping viewers guessing whether the threat is real or a manifestation of unbearable loss. Dark, intimate, and relentlessly tense, it mines genuine horror from the vulnerability of new parenthood.
