The premise
With nowhere else to hide, a group of mercenaries and their prisoners take cover inside a long abandoned Bulldog tank. But, while they try to keep the forces outside at bay, the real enemy is already among them, locked inside the 'Belly of the Bulldog'. After collaborating closely with Ben Wheatley on FREE FIRE, HIGH-RISE, A FIELD IN ENGLAND and KILL LIST, director Nick Gillespie makes his feature debut.
Horror Vault's take
A ragged band of mercenaries and their captives squeeze into the rusting hull of an abandoned Bulldog tank, hoping the armoured shell will protect them from whatever lurks outside. Space is scarce, nerves are shredded, and it quickly becomes clear that the greatest threat may not be the enemy hammering at the hatch. Director Nick Gillespie — a longtime collaborator of Ben Wheatley — brings a disorienting, pressure-cooker sensibility to this debut feature. What begins as a siege story steadily mutates into something far stranger and more psychological.
