The premise

The upper torso of a female, claws her way around Japan searching for her lower half. The person's lower half was severed in a train accident in Hokkaido. Anyone that hears of this story will see Teke-Teke's upper half walking aimlessly around the countryside within three days.

Horror Vault's take

Rooted in one of Japan's most chilling urban legends, Teke Teke follows the terrifying myth of a vengeful spirit — the bisected remnant of a woman killed in a train accident — who drags herself across the Japanese countryside in search of what she lost. High school students find themselves entangled in the curse after the story reaches their ears, setting a deadly three-day countdown in motion. The film leans into the distinctly Japanese tradition of horror spread through rumor and retelling, making the act of simply hearing the tale a death sentence. Blending creature dread with supernatural folklore, it delivers a persistently unsettling vision of a monster that is as tragic as it is horrifying.
