The premise
Toxic waste dumping in a small Idaho town turns a young boy into horrible mutant monster. The town's police chief and a government scientist team up to stop the monster, which is quickly killing off the town's citizenry.

When illegal toxic waste dumping poisons the outskirts of a quiet Idaho town, something unspeakable crawls out of the darkness with a hunger for the locals. The town's police chief reluctantly joins forces with a visiting government scientist as the body count climbs and panic sets in. Equal parts creature feature and environmental cautionary tale, The Being delivers low-budget thrills with an oddball cast that gives it an unmistakable early-80s charm.
