Two American newlyweds find themselves stranded in the remote modernist fortress of a brilliant but deeply sinister architect after a storm-swept accident in Hungary. When a mysterious doctor with a score to settle accompanies them inside, old wounds and dark secrets begin to surface beneath the sleek, shadowy interior. What unfolds is a tense, pre-Code battle of wills between two legendary screen icons, steeped in satanic ritual and barely concealed menace. Few films from the era pack this much darkness into such an elegant package.
